Description

Blue Horsehead Nebula (IC4592)

The Blue Horsehead Nebula is a reflection nebula in the Scorpius constellation.

Reflection nebulas (contrary to emissions nebulas) are interstellar dust clouds, reflecting the light of a nearby star. The frequency spectrum shown by the reflection nebula is similar to that of the illuminating star.

In the case of this Blue Horsehead it is the star Nu Scorpii (as the eye in the horse head).

Made in Bavaria- im Allgäu (Southern Germany)
