Description

Somewhere in the Auriga constellation, an eight-legged creature tries to lure a six-legged creature into its web. These two interesting regions located near the more famous Tadpoles (IC 410) and Flaming Star (IC 405) contain areas of new star formation and are energized by intense, young stars. Appearances can be deceiving, however. The Spider is almost 10,000 lights years from earth, while the Fly is much closer at about 7,000 light years away. The Fly has been referred to as a "mini Orion" nebula because it's powered by a small group of stars and contains both emission and reflection components.
