Description

NGC 457 is an open cluster in Cassiopeia. Not a lot of excitement here but an interesting star field.

Processing was simple:

RGB:
channel combination
DBE
background neutralization
color calibration (PCC would solve but not do the photometry step regardless of settings)
histogram transformation
ez star reduction
SCNR
curves (color boost)

Of note in the annotated image are the number of background galaxies we can see here. They are mostly faint but there are a fair number of them in there. Kind of a Hubble-not-so-deep field.
