Description

Sh2-140, not a very familiar name but certainly an amazing target for this time of the year. In this image you can see three different nebulas, emission, dark and reflection. The emission Sh2-140 is caused by the radiation of young stars in the star cluster Pismis-Moreno1. A bow shock (bright rim) is formed due to the radiation towards the dark nebula LDN1204. This dark nebula divides Sh2-140 from Sh2-145 which can partly be seen in the upper left corner of the image. The small blue reflection nebula on the right side of the image is catalogued as GN 22 12.3.

It took me almost 30h of image acquisition, between HRGB filters, to get this image where I wanted. The Ha was done in the city and the RGB in dark skies.
