Description

Here is a two panel mosaic of the molecular cloud and surroundings in Taurus, using a stock Canon R6 and RF 85L lens stopped down to f/2. Tracking was with a SkyGuider Pro, mostly 60s sub exposures at ISO1600 when I was in Bortle 3 and ISO800 when I was in Bortle 4. Did manual dithering on the SGPro every 15 minutes or so, each panel is 2 hours for a combined 4 hours of exposures. I traveled to dark sky locations in rural South East Georgia, USA to acquire the sub exposures over 3 different nights. APP was used for calibration, stacking and gradient removal. SIRIL was used just to remove some green cast. Finishing touches done in Photoshop. Did not do any star removal & tone mapping, just traditional post processing to try and keep the image looking more natural.

I can happily confirm now that this lens is a beast for both portraits and astro work!
