Description

With short nights, and plenty else to do in the summer * here, AP has taken a little bit of a back seat.  But with little to lose**, I have decided to get a little experimental.

All joking aside, when I first saw a preliminary starless HOO image of the M42/IC434 region in Orion from my Nikon 200mm lens, I was quite taken aback.  I have alway viewed the Orion region as somewhat a medieval "vision of hell" [hence the Dante reference in the title]., but I was surprised to also see a somewhat demonic face [or possibly a gremlin] appear below M42 in my post-processing workflow.

The addition of stars and further post-processing didn't improve it further (thought [SII] or more [OIIII] might) so I though I would post it for my AB friends.

45 x 300sec + 15 x 30secs Ha
15 x 300sec [OIII]

** Apart from an shred of credibility I may have left on this site...
