Description

A 35 minute elapsed time animation of small loop proms around a new active area just rotating into view along the southeast solar limb.  I unfortunately missed the beginning of the first loop and clouds cut short the animation just as more activity seemed to be occurring.  Nevertheless, I was happy to be able to capture the activity shown in the animation.  Besides the loops emanating from the solar surface, there was a faint floating prom which also provided movement in the form of coronal rain.  Lots of plasma movement all over.

Captured with a Lunt LS80THa (SS), Meade 3x barlow and ASI174MM.  Capture sequence was 10 second capture with a 15 second delay.  Frame rate was 302 fps which captured over 3,000 frames per SER video.  Stacked in AutoStakkert!3, sharpened and aligned in ImPPG, cropped and rotated in PS CC 2022 and PIPP for the animation.  The animation covers 1909-1944 UTC.

Seeing was very good throughout the capture sequence.  Had a bit of breeze at times which visibly shook the telescope but AS!3 did a great job of stacking.

I had to use JPG files to create an animation that was reasonably sized.  Hence, the background in the full resolution shows more noise than I would like.
