Description

This small galaxy (4.7'x3.5') is a 3 branch spiral with a small, round and condensed core. It is rarely imaged but can show a lot of details at higher magnification, larger exposition times and a quiet sky... It was done 10 years ago with my first equipment (a basic C8 and modified Canon EOS450D) and would deserve being revisited. Its distance is 72 million light years and its diameter is estimated to 98000 light years (Source: "The complete guide to the Herschel objects", Mark Bratton, Cambridge University Press)

One of the best image I could find on astrobin for this image is from Gary Imm in 2021  (https://astrob.in/qov4y1/0/)
