Description

The Ghost of Cassiopeia: IC-59 on the left, IC-63 on the right, and the optics-stressing Gamma Cassiopeia ... well, you can see that. I took this back in October 2021 but put off processing it because I didn't have any flats. As it turned out, that wasn't much of an issue.

The Ghost is an interesting object to photograph. The red is fairly strong sulfur and hydrogen emissions. The blue, however, is dust reflections. So it's part emission nebula, part reflection nebula. The color combination is kinda like HOO, except with hydrogen and sulfur for the red channel, and blue (RGB) for the green and blue channels.
