      Description

Falls Object 3 is a newly discovered nebula in the southern constellation Phoenix. It is 3800 light years away from Earth, and hosts a VERY hot central star with a temperature of 50000K. I'm no genius when it comes to astrophysics, but if I were to take a wild guess at what was going on here, its that this might not be a true PN. It could instead just be a really hot star which is creating a bow shock front as it moves through space. I'm also leaning toward this explanation because of the lack of any other type of gas combined with the bow shock shape. There is a whisper of hydrogen alpha but it is hundreds of times fainter than the Oiii. I never did check for Sii, so that part is still unknown!

The nice thing about this one is that it's not crazy faint (as long as you skip Halpha). It sits in a really really lonely part of the sky in the southern hemishpere above the SMC and LMC. So if you're down south and looking for a nice break from the usual things out right now, this is a good option especially with more focal length.

It looked to me like a floating tentacle monster thing so I named it the 'Ghast Nebula' after Ghasts in minecraft.
