Description

>Heart and Soul Nebula // IC 1805 and IC 1848

>At the mothership for the trucking company I drive for and dreaded it is to get a load out. Inevitably stuck in Springfield, MO with a clear night, no moon in the sky; I headed north to a dead end street leading into a farm field; escaping as much light pollution as possible.

>Fighting cold the gear was quickly set-up and polar aligned within 45 minutes. The hard part is manually plate solving with a target so high in the sky. It's difficult but is really entertaining when you take one test shot at a time, starting with the constellation Cassiopeia, shifting to Persei(s), then finally realizing you have the star cluster NGC 1027 in frame. It's just a matter of rotating the right stars to the correct edges of the viewfinder at that point. It's exhilarating!

>Final thoughts this round. I feel like my last upload wasn't up to par for what I envision my standards should be. While I'm still learning a lot of the processes, especially editing, it was still a personal notation in an acquisition of experience. Being more of a proof of concept that has otherwise already been demonstrated. Making adjustments and increasing the sample rate in Starnet++ to a point it broke the image down into 25,676 tiles was part of this desire to produce better images. This is also probably the sharpest image yet and I threw out about 1H of data. Star color accuracy is also something I'm striving for. While I still see some room for improvement this is where I leave this data for the time being. Might make some more edits and upload to astrobin in the future.
