Description

[color=var(--lighterGrey)]It is a star-forming region emitting mainly in red due to hydrogen atoms with high mass filaments. Nebula located near the tail of Scorpius about 5500 light years away from us. It is also popularly known as Bear Claw Nebula, Gum 64 or Pata de Gato in Portuguese. Cloud structure spans approximately 320 light years.

This twenty one minutes exposure using short focal ratio, when applying histogram transformation, can reveal a lot of nebulosity around this main target. Also note apparently dark foreground objects that may not be related to H-II emission region.[/color]
