Description

This is probably as dark as i want to go in this image. I kept thinking there was a gradient down there until I learned there is actually stuff (maybe nebulosity?) that the sensor is picking up. It does look like a vignette. It still might be, I have no idea. It's staying. I'm learning that seeing has to be pretty good for sharper galaxy images. 15m light years is a long way to go. I didn't mess with the color too much, I did keep it on the cooler side. This is a set of exposures with the D800 as RGB and an asi294mm as luminosity. I really blew out both images too. Galaxy images don't really need too much exposure. These are 180s. Just learning how to read the FITS histogram. Now I understand where a "normal" exposure is. No obstructions for the location of M81 from the backyard. I have a clear view to the north. sans clouds. I don't have total integration time here yet. I'll figure it out and post soon. Thanks for looking.
