Description

In an annular eclipse as the moon approaches second contact the horns of the crescent sun start to converge. Whisps of the bright sun can be seen between the caves and crevasses of the moon, an effect known as “Bailey’s beads” . Normally this is a total eclipse phenomenon, but not always…
In the leftmost ring, you can see a hint of this, although two well placed solar prominences helped to light up the bits of sunlight.
