Description

Once thought to be two distinct object visually (hence the double catalog assigments of NGC2371 & NGC2372 by John Lousi Emil Dreyer in the New General Catalog), NGC2371-2 (aka the Double Bubble nebula) is actually a dual lobed planetary nebula located aptly in the constellation of Gemini the twins.

The central star of this planetary nebula has a spectral type of W01, which is similar to that of an oxygen rich Wolf-Rayet star.
