Description

A particular challenging process due to the dynamic brightness of M94, Croc's Eye was a bit of a hipfire in target selection.   Like the last image, galaxy season is particularly a stretch for the Esprit 100, but I do believe proper sampling against sky conditions is appropriate.   I do have the option to sling an 8" Ritchey at some point, but I can't find it in me to give up the ability to use both scopes on a target and acquire substantial integration time in relatively short time frames.

I do believe with more time I could expose some better colors in the outer bands of the galaxy, particularly the blues, but it's just that time of the year where seeing isn't all that great and it's kinda pointless to me to spend alot of time when my conditions are barely sub 3 arc second.   BlurX, DeepSNR, and drizzle carried this image all the way.   Without them I could not achieve this level of sharpness.   The luminance stack was around 2.8 arc second, which to be frank, is better than my M63 data set, but far from ideal in my location.

I'm pretty happy with this project, I really wasn't expecting this level of depth in the outer bands.    It was quite impressive when everything came together.   I hope you enjoy this particularly challenging image.
