Description

I had a hard time getting a starless image with just rejection without losing a lot of SNR in the comet as well so I decided to take a slightly different approach. Details below.

185x20" = 1,03 h

Star alignment and integration.

Create starmask with starnet++ from the star-aligned integration

Create starless images: binarize starmask, clean up with clone stamp, run DefectMap and SimplexNoise (with starmask) on each frame with containers.

Apply comet registration on the starless images.

Integrate starless images to get starless comet image without streaks, cleanup comet residues with clonestamp.

Use CometAlignment to subtract the comet image from each star aligned frame and integrate the star aligned frames.

Use Pixmath (2*comet+stars) to combine both images.

Crop, TGV+MMT denoise, PCC, SCNR. Extract luminance for later. ArcsinhStretch, Curves

With the extracted L: HT, LHE

Combine the two images with LRGBCombination, Curves, ACDNR and MMT to clean up.
