Description

Here are 2 interacting galaxies in Pisces: NGC 520 (Arp 157) showing all the kinematics of galactic mergers. Only parts of the original galaxies are somewhat identifiable. A very large tidal tail loops away from the central chaos. These galaxies collide about 100 million light years away and this one in particular is one of the brightest examples in the sky.

The most complicated part of the treatment was the enhancement of the dark band of dust without forcing the saturation too much. This was also the first time I used GHS in PixInsight for star stretching.
