Description

I finally managed to shoot at this target: one in my main list since I started astrophotography.
M51 is one of the brightest galaxy, and today classified as an active Seyfert Galaxy: a galaxy containing an active nucelus probably powered by a supermassive blackhole!
This is the result of roughly 9 hours of RGB data (with 180s exposures) + 1 hour of h-alpha to add some of the nebulosity.
I admit to be impressed by the result of short exposure: I didn't expect that detail.
The first image is the full field of view, while the second is a crop where I tried to retrieve more details using drizzle integration. The third image is an annotation to show how many galaxy are in this wonderful sky region!
I hope the overall result is graceful: let me know what you think!
