Description

Venus on Easter Sunday 17 Apr 2022 AEST.

Imaged planetary trifecta this morning: Mars, Saturn and Venus.

This is a visible light capture of our nearest neighbor taken 4 minutes after sunrise in a rapidly brightening sky.  The image is centered on 6:33 am Canberra time and shows the planet one month after after Greatest Western Elongation (50% phase) and getting further away from Earth.

Venus's disk will become more fully illuminated and its angular diameter will shrink as the planet swings around the far side of the Sun.  It is still the brightest object at dawn after the Moon.
