Description

I really struggle with broadband targets from light polluted skies. Plus, we have a ton of humidity in the atmosphere, which often limits seeing. There's not a lot of good detail close up, but I did my best with the color of the galaxy. I processed the galaxy and stars separately, and the stars leave a little to be desired. If I try to bring out more color in the stars there's terrible CA on them, and this likely has to do with the Edge Reducer so far as I can tell. I might try to shoot some at native focal length and take out the reducer to see how the telescope performs.

I also finally got around to adjusting tilt on this sensor, and I have it down to 1% tilt across the frame which is pretty good. This being an APSc sized sensor means curvature begins to show up towards the widest edges of the frame. It's certainly not a flat field, and if I crop it square, it does remove any visible curvature, but I like to use as much of the whole image as possible so this is a full sized APSc image, only cropping out the overlap from dithering. APSc is likely the largest usable sensor for this telescope, and I'm thinking a 4/3 sensor is probably a better choice if you want all your stars perfect.
