Description

I observed this object on 25 September 2022 at the Okie-Tex Star Party using a 22” Obsession UC Dobsonian: This fairly bright globular cluster brightens moderately towards the center.

I obtained the calibrated lights frames used to create the final image from Telescope Live. The frames were imaged by the CHI-1-CMOS Telescope at the El Sauce Observatory in Chile.

Note: 106 LY in diameter.

Shapley Sawyer Classification: IX
Distance: 54,573 LY
Type: Halo Globular
Position w.r.t. core of galaxy: Below and on far side of core.
Any stars resolved: No
Undergoing Core Collapse: No
