Description

300 million light years distant, two galaxies are entangled in a dance.    The larger galaxy (UGC 1810) has a huge winding arc that's nearly a ring.  The smaller galaxy is thought to have passed through the larger galaxy to form the unique shape.   The larger galaxy is about 5 times more massive than the smaller galaxy (according to the Hubble release).  Both galaxies have large amounts of star formation as a result of the interaction.

This is about as small as I want to chase galaxies with the RASA 11.   It was quite a crop, and the two brightest field stars near the galaxy pair were reduced in brightness to keep them from stealing the show.    It's a nice galaxy pairing that does show some detail.    The seeing for the capture was pretty good (average of all raw subs was 2.7 arcsecs).
