Description

Omega Centauri (or NGC 5139) is located about 17,000 LY away from Earth, and at 150 LY in diameter is the largest known globular cluster in the Milky Way. It is also the most massive known cluster in the Milky Way, with a total of 10 million stars weighing in at 4 million solar masses. Due to the unique properties of Omega Centauri compared to other globular clusters, it is thought that it is actually a remnant of a small dwarf galaxy that was long ago consumed by the Milky Way.

I hope you enjoy!
