Description

The Ghost Nebula (vdB 141, Sh2-136) is a reflection nebula in Cepheus.  It is over 2 light years across and 1200 light years away at the edge of the Cepheus molecular cloud complex.  There are several embedded stars whose emissions make the nebula shine in a brownish color.  The nebula itself consists of numerous Bok globules with surrounding uncatalogued nebulosity which is common throughout the area.  The core of the dark cloud on the right side is collapsing and is likely a binary star system in the early stages of formation.  (Wikipedia; APOD Oct 2011)

Taken over several nights:  Sept 9, 11-12, 24 and 26, 2021.
