Description

This object, nicknamed the Flying Dragon Nebula, is a faint emission nebula located in the constellation of Cygnus at a declination of +39 degrees. Surprisingly little has been written about this beautiful object, so its nature remains a mystery. Its wispy filaments resemble a supernova remnant but no such remnant has been identified for this location.

The tiny bright red object above and slightly right of this nebula is the quadrupolar planetary nebula Lan 384, also known as Kn 26.
