Description

M45, the Pleiades, 3 hours of total exposure with the ASI 1600MM. I was expecting the stars to be all bloated (isn’t it usually the case for Alnitak with this camera?) but they turned out fine. There was about 80% humidity that night (never seen that before in Nevada) and the scope was all wet…

I don’t have a dew shield or dew heater so I believe it affected the image quite a bit. I’ll probably try again another time when it’s dry as usual.

I imaged this target 3+ years ago with my old Canon t3i and I feel like there was more detail in the nebulosity, but the overall image wasn’t as clear.
