Description

Sh2-73 aka LBN 105 aka MBM 40 molecular cloud / integrated flux nebula in Hercules, allegedly miscategorized as emission nebula in Sharpless2 catalog.  Yet, there is red Ha nebulosity visible through the IFN clouds at the location known as Sh2-73.  It is not miscategorized, but obscured by IFN in front of it, it seems.  I did not mask the area of Sh2-73 to enhance the Ha at all, nor is there any Ha filter data added to this image.

Another interesting feature visible in this field of view is a very large rectangular formation of the IFN clouds near Sh2-73, as if an invisible rectangular object is there with the IFN flowing around its edges.

This image combines three seasons of imaging data of this object, from Q2 2017, Q2 2018 and Q2 2019.

All the subframes are 300 seconds.  LRGB. Drizzled.

L = 118 x 300s = 9.8 hrs
R = 76 x 300s = 6.3 hrs
G = 95 x 300s = 7.9 hrs
B = 73 x 300s = 6.1 hrs
