Description

Sh2-86 is an emission nebula surrounding the open cluster NGC 6823, at 6000 LY. The gases in the cloud receive light from young stars in this cluster. One big and some little pillars of creation evolve towards the open cluster. Several Bok globules, dark clouds of cosmic dust, surround the trunk-like pillars. 2 Herbig-Haro objects and a giant molecular cloud, a cluster of gas with a very high mass, complete the complexity and the beauty of this region characterized by very young and forming stars.

Rather dark object, especially in the OIII radiation - finally quite happy with the degree of detail that I was able to capture.

Hope you like it.
