Description

There was supposed to be only few hours break in the clouds so chose M106 instead of originally planned Sunflower galaxy as M106 was clearing earlier behind neighbour's house. Got a good guide star in OAG, guiding was smooth and unexpectedly the whole night turned out cloud-free so ended up with over 6 hours of data.

The image has its flaws and the bortle 8 sky took its heavy toll -- despite relatively long integration time the fainter details around the galaxy are beyond my current processing skills. Also color balancing this target was a real challenge. Nevertheless, after a long cloudy period I'm reasonably happy how this moonless night and the image turned out.

Modified Canon 1100d @ ISO 1600, Altair GPCAM2 guidecamera on Omegon OAG. Lights: 75x300". Calibration: 25 flats, 20x300" darks, 20 dark flats, 20 bias.

As always, improvement suggestions are more than welcome. Thanks for watching and clear skies!
