Description

Last month my sky was not great but I took subs on all the nights I could and managed 7 hours after throwing out most of the highest FWHM's, but there are way too many 6 and 7's in this image and not many below 4.00.  I really like this object and there are some beautiful versions of this on Astrobin, but my conditions were not much of a help during this capture.

I did spend a lot of file inspection time studying the new PSF functions in PI's Image Inspector.  I compared the PSF Weight to FWHM and SNR file graphs and directly examined many "bad" and "good" - high and low numbered files- by eye.  All the PSF Weight comparisons passed the eye test and I could clearly see differences in what passed as good or failed as bad.  I now have complete confidence in culling low numbered PSF files out of my integration stacks... at least to the point of keeping enough to produce a final image to post.
I suspect a "Median PSFWeight " button might  eventually replace Median FWHM button in the Astrobin acquisition settings.
