Description

IC 1848 (also known as the Soul Nebula) is a diffuse nebula associated with an open cluster of young, hot, high-mass stars, visible in the constellation Cassiopeia, towards the border with the Giraffe.
This is one of the areas of the Milky Way where star formation is most active: the estimated distance is 7600 light years.
I've done a classic SHO combination: I'm not really a fan of this type of mapping, but the image was obtained under a Bortle 8 sky, so I didn't have many other alternatives :-)
RGB exposures were done only for the stars.
