Description

This magnitude 16 planetary nebula is located 6000 light years away in the constellation of Lacerta at a declination of +52 degrees.  It spans 2.2 arc-minutes in our apparent view, which corresponds to a large PN diameter of 3.8 light years.

Like many PN, the outer rim is strong in HII. OIII signal is present in the central region but is very faint. Our view of this PN appears to be slightly off of end-on, as the shape is not exactly a ring but more like a short tube.

The progenitor star could be the very faint blue smudge at the center of the nebula, but I have not been able to confirm that.
