Description

This cluster is quite interesting to image with a a larger equipment to try resolving the galaxies that are next to it, at least 4 of them (they are quite faint in this image). Also interesting is the IC 1908 galaxy on the top left side, which is a pair of galaxies.

The cluster itself seems to have some particular interest for astronomers, in fact, searching for some information I found something completely new for me, regarding sausages and galaxies , the cluster seems that was born from the "Gaia-Enceladus galaxy", according to Wikipedia is a kind of sausage galaxy...(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaia_Sausage) and if I understood correctly, this cluster is migrating towards the halo of the Milky Way. Any way, there a few quite fascinating issues regarding some dynamic of a few GC in the region. The later constitute an incentive to read more about it.
If someone wishes to read about, the study of NGC 1261 is in https://arxiv.org/abs/2104.11243
