Description

First time exploring Saturn with my ADC and IR742 filter. Surprisingly, the Northern polar region was much darker in IR, and some additional bands were visible on the planet's atmosphere.

WinJUPOS derotation of the separate stacks was not working well, so I tried another strategy to improve the SNR. Saturn did not show any moving features / storms at the time, so I simply averaged multiple raw stacks in PixInsight and processed from there.

I stacked 60x200ms exposures in IR for the moons. Glare from the over-exposed planet was reduced with MultiscaleMedianTransform in PixInsight. 5 Moons are visible: Titan (Mag 8.8), Rhea (Mag 10.2), Tethys (Mag 10.7), Dione (Mag 10.9) and Enceladus (Mag 12.2).

60 second captures per stack @ 10 fps. Best 50% stacked. Average of 3 stacks for RGB and 6 stacks for IR.
