Description

A serendipitous image acquired at the end of an automated sequence of deep sky images, with the Moon present and variable thin high cloud I didn't have high hopes.
But here we have a quick and noisy image, I tried various noise reduction techniques in PI but didn't like the unnatural results.
I've only used comet align in PI once before with poor results and initial attempts were again unsuccesful. The method I used was to ignore the 'subtract' option, this then gave good results. Integrated using pixel rejection sigma high as 0.3 which eliminated most of the stars. Residual stars cloned out  then used comet align again to align the comet images. A star aligned image used with StarNet to paste back the stars. I'm happy to have learned a new technique (certainly nowhere near as good as the wonderful IOTD today!)
