Description

After a long period of bad weather we finally had a few hours of clear skies. Conditions were not ideal, there was a lot of wind, but it had been too long without imaging.
Inspired by Frank from the YouTube channel 'astrophotocologne'  I went for IC 348 . This is a starforming regionin the constellationPerseus.

After stacking I had the impression there was a artifact on the final image. So I checked the individual frames, the flat and dark files but didn't find anything. After some resaurch on the small bodies database of  Nasa, I discovered that I imaged the asteroid 1604 Tombaugh. I has a diameter of around 32 kilometers discoverd in 1931.
Quite a nice surprise after weeks without any imaging

I also include a small animation showing how the astroid moves through the starfield
