Description

The Whirlpool Galaxy, located in the constellation Canes Venatici, is a stunning spiral galaxy interacting with its smaller companion, NGC 5195. Situated approximately 23 million light-years away from Earth.

I took the opportunity of a clear half night where the moon was absent to take 6h12m worth of 3 minute exposures of this incredible sight.

Not an idea setup for my small refractor but the zoomed in view still shows some small details of the two galaxies.
