Description

All new telescopes have to battle the cloud gods. In the case of the Skywatcher 12" Quattro 300P, it has been fighting a losing battle for nearly a month. The evening of the 10th November we finally had a break in the clouds and I decided to try the scope on the Tarantula. It was Friday night so I had to go to Karaoke first but I arrived home at 10 pm and set up. The ASAIR Plus was set to do 100 subs of 3 minutes each followed by the darks and the Bias. By 11 I was in bed and watching the images on my tablet interface.  I woke early as I shoot Sunrise everyday and discovered that at some point during the night, the scope lost the battle yet again and the clouds moved in. All up i got 42 light frames, a little over 2 hours byut the results are everything I expected.
