Description

NGC 3981 is an unbarred spiral galaxy located 62 million light-years away from us in the Constellation fo Crater. It has an interesting shape of the spiral arms; some of them seems blown off from the galaxy, which is believed due to the gravitational influence of a past galactic encounter.

Most of the beautiful images of this target here on Astrobin come from big scope in Chile, which tells me I should lower my expectation... And with our less-than-ideal scope condition it is really hard to resolve much of the structure of the galaxy. Plus the target is fairly low down in South. Still i want to give it a try for its interesting look.
