Description

Continuing my imaging of Venus during the 2019-2020 evening apparition...

These images were captured on the night of April 18, 2020. Venus was ~35% illuminated in this image. The seeing ranged from below average to average this night. We had a pretty good string of clear nights through mid-April, so I managed quite a few imaging sessions recently. I'd trade the last half dozen for a night of above average seeing though...

Imaged with a C8 Evo, ZWO ADC, Baader UV-IR Cut filters, and ZWO ASI224MC. Imaging train was configured to give me ~F/20. Image capture using Firecapture (see below for exposure settings). Stacking in AutoStakkert3 (best 10% of ~42000 frames captured over 180 seconds). Color balancing and Wavelet sharpening in Registax6. Derotated and combined three images in WinJUPOS.

Exposure settings for UV-IR Cut Filter images: Shutter=0.25ms, Gain=250 (33%), Histogram=~50%, ~250 FPS
