Unlike many of my recently posted images of galaxies, M83 appears to have been little affected by close proximity to other galaxies; it retains an almost iconic shape. Nonetheless, M83 has had gravitation interactions with a nearby dwarf galaxy, NGC 5253, that has initiated starburst activity in both galaxies. However, the  Centaurus A galactic group members appear to be moving in unison with very little motion relative to one another (Wikipedia). This lack of relative motion could explain M83's overall lack of distorting gravitation events in its past.

Hope you find this rendition pleasing,

Alex Woronow
