Description

The Eagle Nebula is a stellar nursery surrounding a star cluster only 2 million years old. At its center are the cosmic sculptures called the Pillars of Creation, made famous by the Hubble Space Telescope. The dense, dusty pillars and light-years long and actively condensing to form new stars. Since this region is 7,000 light years from Earth, we're seeing it as it was 7,000 years ago…who knows what new wonders have been formed in the the time its light has taken to reach us.
