Description

Smartphone cameras have certainly come a long ways in their abilities.

It seems that the camera is the main focus of the manufactures.

Now it seems that low light is the main focus on the cameras.

Even Google is touting their astrophotography abilities with the Pixal 4.

I recently purchased the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+.

I bought it mostly for its computing power.

However, I decided to give it a try for afocal with my telescope.

My setup is a CPC 9.25 Edge HD deluxe.

The phone is mounted to a Celestron 2 inch E-Lux 40mm eyepiece.

It is held in place with Celestron's NexYZ smartphone adapter. (this works great)

This smartphone has a Pro mode for the camera and has controls very muck like a DSLR.

I have control over ISO, shutter speeds 1/24000 to 30 seconds, Manual focus and white balance.

The photos shown were set to ISO 100 at 30 seconds.

Not bad for a phone camera and could be another EAA method especially for outreach.
