Description

There is much to see in this object.  It is full of dark dust clouds,  dark nebulae and my personal favorite...pillars.  NGC 7822 is star forming region with a very hot, intense star inside powering it. The star is cataloged as BD +66 1673 and is an eclipsing binary. Numerous elephant trunk like pillars line one edge of the molecular cloud. Interestedly, they all point into the stellar wind back to that star which is hidden in the dark dust cloud.
