Description

The Helix Nebula, approximately 650 light years away, is located in the constellation Aquarius. The Helix Nebula is one of the closet planetary nebulae to Earth. The Helix Nebula is an example of a planetary nebula, formed by an intermediate to low-mass star, which sheds its outer layers near the end of its evolution.

This image was captured, in a Queen Creek (Arizona) Bortle 7 backyard, using a Skywatcher Esprit 150ED telescope. The telescope is mounted on a 10Micron GM2000 HPS II mount. The camera is a ZWO ASI 2600MM Pro using Antlia 3nm SII, 3nm HA, and 3nm OIII. It was captured over 6 nights (2022-09-30 to 2022-10-10). The images were stacked/processed in Pixinsight and fine-tuning done in Photoshop.
