Description

I had opportunity the other night to image the Scorpius region once more, and because of how the constellation rises in my area, I had to wait until about 1.30 in the morning. That was okay, because the cloud was not going to clear until then anyway. So, I went to bed and got up again, to set it all going. Alas, the cloud did not clear until 3.00 a.m., and when it did, some lingered in the very area of the sky I wanted to image - and the moon was much brighter than I thought it was going to be! So, all in all, I stayed awake and exhausted myself for an object that never 'appeared.' Look at what astrophotography makes you give! It's fine really, this is just my story... Anyway, what was I supposed to do? Image M56 and do it a widefield. For the record, I would never stay up this late for a globular under normal circumstances!   :  )  I am really happy with this image and I have decided against cropping it, because I like it in its context. Hoping you are all okay. Thanks. Simon
