Description

NGC 6744 is an intermediate spiral galaxy in Pavo, with a very similar structure to the Milky Way. It is part of the Virgo supercluster at a distance of about 30 million light years. The "Tail" on the end of the spiral arm (top Right) is a small satellite galaxy NGC 6744A,  similar to our Magellanic clouds - Wikipedia.  Being such a rich star field I processed the stars separately, with only a light touch of Histogram Transformation , so they don't overwhelm the galaxy.
