Description

Shelob lies in wait, anticipating the harmonious twang as her next meal becomes entrapped in her web. You can see the remains of a small scorpion to her left, a previous meal.

The Tarantula nebula is a massive HII region within the Large Magellanic Cloud. The weather was briefly good here and the seeing was exceptional. This is 6 hours of SHO data captured from my backyard. Hopefully the weather will clear again so I can continue to capture photons of this beautiful region of space.

Description: As in C but tried to be more careful with the tone mapping to reduce noise and maintain balance.

Description: Okay, so this is an experiment. I've used the full 12 hours of SHO data to complete the tone mapping. But I sacrificed quantity for quality and used only the best 2 hours of Ha subs for a luminance layer. I think the sharpness has definitely improved. I'm hoping the next two nights are clear so I can now just concentrate on amassing Ha data to give me a better pool for the sharpest luminance data.

Description: Now with 5.5 hours of low FWHM (for my crappy skies) ha and oiii luminance.

Description: Nope, way too excited on the saturation! So here it is more subdued.
