Description

While I've seen and imaged many beautiful prominences over the last few years since getting my dedicated solar scope, I've always wanted to catch a large, graceful arching loop extending well out from the disk. Today it finally happened! When I checked the GONG website this morning this wasn't there, but it appeared first thing after the sun cleared the trees. By ten minutes later it was gone. 2023-09-15
Central Willamette Valley, Oregon, USA
100mm Bausch & Lomb f/10 achromat refractor
Baader TZ4 4x tele-extender, Solar Spectrum SUNA 0.7A etalon, 0.4x compressor
ZWO ASI178MM camera, 3ms exposures, 36fps for 30 seconds
Best 5% of frames stacked in AutoStakkert, wavelets applied in Astra-Image, colorized in Photoshop

I'm a pretty happy camper,

Arnie
